CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Minimum 2 night stay
  • 50% deposit required to secure booking
  • Cancellation 60 or more days prior to arrival, full refund of 50% deposit
  • Cancellation 30-60 days prior to arrival, 50% refund of 50% deposit
  • Cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival, no refund
  • Notice of cancellation must be submitted in writing

TOURIST FEES

Marine Reserve entrance fees not included in pricing. However, we work alongside the Belize Fisheries Department to collect the fees from our international guests, so that they do not interrupt your vacation time on the island.

All non-Belizean tourist entering South Water Caye Marine Reserve must pay an entrance fee of:

  • US $5.00 per day up to 3 days
  • US $ 15.00 for 4 – 7 days or $18.00 for 8 – 10 days
  • Student rate US $ 10.00 for 10 days

It’s a fair trade with nature for you to get to enjoy its uniqueness and beauty. By paying this small fee, you are contributing to the protection and management of this Marine Reserve – a World Heritage site.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We highly encourage guests to purchase travel insurance should unforeseen situations arise that might cause their trip to be cancelled. The Windward Lodge does not take responsibility for cancelled or partially cancelled reservations due to illness, accidents, flight cancellations, or natural disasters such as heavy rains, flooding, storms, and hurricanes. Please ensure your travel insurance cover all these possible eventualities.

Whenever possible, The Windward Lodge will work with you to arrange future dates for your trip.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Check-in time is 12:00 p.m and check-out time is 9:00 a.m.
  2. Early check-in and late check-out are available on subject to availability.
  3. Gatherings and parties of any nature should be kept at a minimum. The lodge reserves the right to evict any additional occupants in the room.
  4. In the event of no-show, a fee of one night’s room charge (inclusive of any applicable prevailing government tax) will be charged to your credit card provided at the time of reservation or as per any revised conditions of booking as per the offer.
  5. The lodge reserves the right to send guests away from the lodge due to their conduct and behavior or for any other safety, security, medical reasons. This applies in particular, if guests do not observe instructions given by lodge employees, express themselves in a discriminating manner, harass or endanger other guests.
  6. Guests will not be permitted to compromise the health, safety and security aspects of the lodge at any point of time.
  7. Guests are bound to produce an original proof of identity at the time arrival in the lodge.
  8. In case of conflict in the actual bill provided to you after the receipt of services, the terms of the bill will prevail.
  9. All the assets and valuables of the lodge should be duly maintained adequately and should not be damaged or destroyed. The lodge has the discretion to levy any charges in future if it is proven beyond doubt that such damage/destruction to the asset of the lodge (both movable and immovable) have been done or caused by the guest.
  10. If you have any allergies, sensitivities or intolerance to, but not limited to: a particular fabric, material, cleaning product or food, it is not lodge’s responsibility. You should advise management prior to your arrival.
  11. Management and staff work hard to provide a safe and secure environment. We do everything possible to ensure a secure environment is maintained and we ask that our guests do also. The lodge takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises due to the acts and omissions of the guests themselves.
  12. Lost property found on the premises is logged and kept in a secure location for a period of three (3) months. Thereafter items are either disposed of or donated to charity. The lodge accepts no responsibility for contacting individuals in relation to lost property. Perishable items retrieved from rooms after check out are only held until close of business that day.
  13. The lodge is not responsible for damage or disappearance of vehicles kept in the parking area at the marina.
  14. The lodge reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this website immediately. Please check the latest information posted herein to inform yourself of any changes.
